Is it possible to switch from development to testing?
Second part – Yes, it is very much possible. Since you have development experience, you can learn automation tools very easily. Put in extra efforts to reach there. If you are planning for manual testing, I must say – “It is a plain vanilla”. It will not work in long run.
Do you have to be good at testing to be a developer?
If you enjoy testing more than you enjoy developing, then that’s all you need to say. No sensible interviewer expects a developer with a year’s experience to have really good coding skills: unless your skills with code are weak compared to other developers with your level of experience it should not be an issue.
What happens when you switch from development to QA?
After you move to QA, if you are given with some sort of excel work, you will start hating it. You will fail to realize that, everything is part of the job. My thoughts!
