Why do you write code for failing tests in TDD?

In TDD, you always write code for a failing test, and this is the reason why we execute the test case knowing full well that there is no code to support it. Executing the test case without code also provides the insurance that the developer does not get carried away by the need to have the code in place before writing the test case.

How does test driven development ( TDD ) work?
