What is post hoc Tukey?
The Tukey Test (or Tukey procedure), also called Tukey’s Honest Significant Difference test, is a post-hoc test based on the studentized range distribution. An ANOVA test can tell you if your results are significant overall, but it won’t tell you exactly where those differences lie.
How do you interpret Adonis output?
The R-square value is the important statistic for interpreting Adonis as it gives you the effect size. For example an R-squared of 0.44 means that 44% of the variation in distances is explained by the grouping being tested. The p value tells you whether or not this result was likely a result of chance.
What is the difference between Permanova and Anosim?
ANOSIM tests whether distances between groups are greater than within groups. PERMANOVA tests whether distance differ between groups.
What is the most powerful post hoc test?
Newman-Keuls uses different critical values for comparing pairs of means. Therefore, it is more likely to find significant differences. Considered by some to be the most powerful post hoc test for detecting differences among groups.
Is there a post hoc test for PERMANOVA ( Adonis )?
I have performed a PERMANOVA analyses with the function adonis from the vegan package. I had 4 factors and one variable so I chose the euclidean distance matrix. Now, I would like to run a post hoc analyses, can anyone suggest me any? Join ResearchGate to ask questions, get input, and advance your work.
How does post hoc Adonis work in R?
Adonis is not working like lm or glm, which will give you the combination of the different levels. In your example (I am not sure if I got the problem rigth), you want to a cross comparison of all factor levels agains each other rigth?
How to proceed after a significant PERMANOVA test?
Assume you are testing this by means of a PERMANOVA (i.e., permutational ANOVA/MANOVA). If your test is significant, it means that differences exist between your groups. But, how to proceed after this? I mean, how can you discover where those differences are? Which test do you suggest now? Thanks in advance.
How can I conduct multiple comparisons when I use vegan : Adonis?
I ran a NMDS and a global test with adonis (vegan) and I have found significant differences among the treatments (p-vaue < 0.001). I have not been able to find any way to run pairwise contrast to know which of the treatments are significantly different. How can I conduct multiple comparisons when I use vegan::adonis?
