How do you convert low-poly to high-poly in blender?
Blender (2.7)- How to reduce the polygons count
- 1-Open the model with Blender then select the object polygon you want to lower.
- 3-Then, choose the “Decimate” tool.
- 4-When the “Decimate” window appear, the polygon count is displayed.
- 5-On the “Decimate” modifier window, change the ratio to a number lower than 1.00.
Does low-poly render faster?
Aside from hardware and the render engine of choice, render speed is about calculations, so anything that adds extra calculations will impact rendering times. In other words, numbers. For example, a high polygon object will take longer to render than its low poly version.
What’s the difference between high and low poly modeling?
Even in the case of low poly modeling, an increasingly popular way to produce them is modeling the low poly base mesh, then making a clone that you add high poly detail onto. From there you can use software such as Substance Painter to bake the high poly mesh detail onto the low poly mesh as a normal map. The more you do this, the easier it gets.
Is there a downside to using low poly?
The downside of low polygonal meshes is that it’s difficult to achieve the high level of detail you may want in your finished product. Because you are using fewer polygons, you have less geometry that you can manipulate into certain shapes. This means things like creases on clothes cannot be made in the mesh.
How can I make a low poly map?
From there you can use software such as Substance Painter to bake the high poly mesh detail onto the low poly mesh as a normal map. The more you do this, the easier it gets.
Can a high poly mesh be transferred to a low poly mesh?
It is the result of a re-topology of the High Poly which had other UV’s. The Low Poly has problems with seams/vertices. So I am trying to replace the Low Poly mesh with the original High Poly, but keep the Low Poly’s rig/weights/UV’s and apply them to the High Poly.
