What is the difference between a mixed effect model and a linear regression?
Can somebody please explain the difference between a mixed model and linear regression analysis? (I have very limited knowledge of statistics.) A mixed effects model has both random and fixed effects while a standard linear regression model has only fixed effects.
When do we need a mixed effect model?
Mixed effects models are useful when we have data with more than one source of random variability. For example, an outcome may be measured more than once on the same person ( repeated measures taken over time). When we do that we have to account for both within-person and across-person variability.
Is the GLMMs an extension of generalized linear regression?
Alternatively, you could think of GLMMs as an extension of generalized linear models (e.g., logistic regression) to include both fixed and random effects (hence mixed models). The general form of the model (in matrix notation) is:

What is the difference between regression and clustering?
Regression: It predicts continuous values and their output. Regression analysis is the statistical model that is used to predict the numeric data instead of labels. It can also identify the distribution trends based on the available data or historic data.
When to use clustering, linear regression, or decision trees?
Clustering can handle most types of datasets and ignore missing values. They work well with both continuous and factorial data values. Unlike decision trees, clustering algorithms often don’t bring in the same level of comprehension and transparency. Often, they require a lot of implementation-level explanations for decision-makers.
Why is linear regression not good for classification?
This will happen with each data point that we add to the model; hence, linear regression isn’t good for classification models. Linear regression is weaker than both other algorithms in terms of reducing error rates. Linear regression relies on continuous data to build regression capabilities.
