Is the neuralnet package good for classification in R?
I wrote a quick script as an example and thought I could write a short article on it, furthermore I think a classification tutorial using the neuralnet package could be complementary to the one I did on regression. The neuralnet package is perhaps not the best option in R for using neural networks.
How to make a multilabel classifier with neuralnet?
Since then, however, I turned my attention to other libraries such as MXNet, mainly because I wanted something more than what the neuralnet package provides (for starters, convolutional neural networks and, why not, recurrent neural networks). A few weeks ago, however, I was asked how to use the neuralnet package for making a multilabel classifier.
How to make a multi-class neural network work?
In this case, we’d like the sum of the probabilities of all of our little output nodes to sum to exactly one and this can be achieved by using something called Softmax. Softmax is essentially a generalization of the same logistic regression that we used, but generalized to more than one class.
How is binary classification different from multi class classification?
In the sense, a binary classification problem has two classes to classify a data point, e.g. True and False. Whereas, in this problem we have to deal with the classification of a data point into one of the 13 classes and hence, this is a multi-class classification problem. With the above step, our dataset preparation is now complete.
Can you train a neural network in R?
A neural network is a computational system that creates predictions based on existing data. Let us train and test a neural network using the neuralnet library in R.
How are neural networks used for image classification?
Now as we have become familiar with neural network and classification algorithms, let’s deal with the application of neural networks in classification. Neural Network classification is widely used in image processing, handwritten digit classification, signature recognition, data analysis, data comparison, and many more.
