What is continuous count?
A continuous count is a volume count derived from permanently installed counters for a period of 24 hours each day over 365 days (except for leap year) for the data-reporting year. There is an attempt to collect 365 days of data per year, but sometimes data is not available for some of those days.
Which data are not continuous or treated as continuous?
A count variable is a ratio variable, but it is not continuous.
When can a count variable be considered continuous?
If none of your data are near zero, it would be less of an issue. Treating that count variable as continuous would give you predicted values that are non-integers, but perhaps that’s not a big issue in your particular data set. When can count data be considered continuous SAS?
Hi Karen aim trying to analyse my data using SAS (GENMOD) all independent variables are categorical with different levels, while the 2 dependent variables are continous (Levels of aflatoxins and fumonisins in Maize samples). Can you please advice if Genmode is appropriate and how I can transform the data to fit linear model.
When to use regression model for count data?
Usually we are interested to study relationship between one (response, dependent or outcome) variable to one or more variables (explanatory, independent or predictors). Regression model for count data referes to regression models such that the response variable is a non-negative integer.
What are the values of a count data?
Count data are observations that have only nonnegative integer values. Count can range from zero to some grater undetermind value. Theoretically count can range from zero to infinity but in practice they are always limited to some lesser value. A count of items or events occuring within a period of time.
