Once you’ve created a header or footer, the easiest and quickest way to edit it is to switch to Print Layout view and double-click in the header or footer area. You can also double-click anywhere above or below the document area.
Insert a header or footer
- Go to Insert > Header or Footer.
- Choose the header style you want to use. Tip: Some built-in header and footer designs include page numbers.
- Add or change text for the header or footer.
- Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
Is it possible to have a different header on each page?
A document can have the same header on each page, such as a company logo or the name of the document, or it can have a different header on the first page or on odd and even pages. With a couple of extra steps, you can even have a different header on each page of your document.

Here’s how you can edit the default footer. To change the email footer, navigate to Email Settings > Footer and edit away as you please. A few things to note: Any changes made to the footer only apply to new emails you create.
How can I get a different header/footer on the second page?
If you want to change the Header or Footer size on the second page, scroll down and click anywhere within the SECOND page of the letter. Click on Change Page Layout in the Related Actions menu on the left.Here you can change the Header (and Footer) distance then click OK. This will make that change for the SECOND page only.
and then select Edit Header or Edit Footer.
