How can I make multiple references to the same footnote?
Follow the steps below to learn how to make this happen: Insert your first footnote in your document as you normally would. In the Captions group, click the Cross-reference tool to display the dialog box.
When should you insert a footnote?

Some style guides provide for a number after the closing punctuation, followed by a period. In others, superscript numbers are preferred. You’ll typically only have one footnote per sentence.
Where should I put my footnotes?
Footnotes will always appear at the bottom of the page where the reference occurs and endnotes go on a separate page after the body of the paper.
Should you use footnotes or endnotes?
