What is an image variant?
Image variants are user-defined versions of page attachments. You can define each image variant differently so that you have images for various scenarios. For example, you can create image variant definitions for different browser viewports or for various devices such as mobile phones, tablets, desktops, etc.
How do you only show selected variant’s pictures in the gallery?
The obvious option is to do something like we all saw on Amazon listings: it’s to show only the photos of the default variant, then if the viewer select the swatch of another variant it shows the photos associated with that variant (and only those photos).

Steps:
- In the Variants section of the Add product page, click Add variant.
- Enter a name for the option, such as Size , in Option name.
- In Option values, enter each option value followed by a comma, such as Small , Medium , Large .
- If your variants differ in more than one way, then click Add another option.

How do I hide unavailable variants in Shopify?
If you have the Styles and Colors set up as variants for the products, you can remove the specific variants that do not exist. Beside each of the variants that combine Style and Color there will be a little trash can icon. Just click on that for the combinations that you don’t actually sell.

In your theme editor open the Theme settings tab and expand the Products pane.

How do I add a color swatch in Shopify?
