Use only the first author’s name and ‘et al. ‘ the first time you discuss the research and thereafter. You need to name all the authors in the order they appear on the title page of the book.
General Use of Et Al. Specifically, articles with one or two authors include all names in every in-text citation; articles with three, four, or five authors include all names in the first in-text citation but are abbreviated to the first author name plus et al.
Can there be 2 authors of a book?
There are a tremendous number of books with two authors. Some are written under a single pen name, like Charles Todd and Christina Lauren. Some are a powerhouse team, like Kill the Farmboy by Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne and the soon-to-be released What If It’s Us by besties Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera.
When your parenthetical citation includes two or more works, order them the same way they appear in the reference list (viz., alphabetically), separated by a semi-colon. (Berndt, 2002; Harlow, 1983) If you cite multiple works by the same author in the same parenthetical citation, give the author’s name only once and follow with dates.
6 or More Authors: If a document has six or more authors, simply provide the last name of the first author with “et al.” from the first citation to the last.
What’s the correct use of \\ \\ author?
The \\maketitle command with \\author allows a simple separation of two (or more) authors by using the \\and command. See code below for some inspiration.
In the bibliography invert the first and last name of only the first author. If no page numbers are included then section headings or other types of locating information can be used. Note that there is a space following the colon before the page numbers.
