Why does Grub get stuck when installing Ubuntu Server?
I am trying to install Ubuntu server but it always get stuck at the last stage while updating grub.I cancelled the process and rebooted my system, it took me to the grub command prompt grub>. I tried a manual boot from prompt:

As I suspected in my comment above ( Ubuntu 18.04 installation problem) this is related to a bug that fills up the log (GBs in minutes): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/671979 The solution for that bug is to edit grub and restart, which is useless in this case, being a liveUSB session.
