What is please connect HFP first?
To connect with HFP profile, the remote device should first be paired with the local device. So to test the HFP profile, use the Pair/Unpair Transform along with the HFP Transform. In the Pair/Unpair Transform, specify the MAC address of the remote device to connect with the HFP Profile.

In /etc/pulse/default.pa find the line load-module module-bluetooth-discover and change it to load-module module-bluetooth-discover headset=ofono.

Can a Bluetooth device be used with HSP / HFP?
Most common comments are that HSP/HFP support has been dropped in recent bluez and the ofono should be used (yet I’m not sure how ofono is supposed to help here as AFAIK it is related when BT susystem is being used as a client i.e. connected to mobile phone).
Is there a Bluetooth profile for Ubuntu 16.04?
Closed 7 months ago. I have Ubuntu 16.04 and already installed BlueZ 5.37, PulseAudio 10.0, and ofono 1.20 (clone from github). And I need to use phone like modem for transmitting my phone calls to computer. I paired my telephone with PC, made device trust and connect (all actions are successfully).
