Why is networking BIND9 denied query in Linux?
This is confusing. It is not working because you have commented out the allow-query and goodclients directives. You should uncomment them and populate goodclients with the IPs/networks BIND is supposed to answer queries. allow-query defines an match list of IP address (es) which are allowed to issue queries to the server.
What happens when a DNS server refuses a request?
In that case I don’t get REFUSED but I don’t get any answer! The name you are looking up is not part of any zone that you have. The zone that you have configured is named mydomain.com.dns but you are trying to look up the name mydomain.com.
