The advantages to fixed navigation bars should be obvious. They, quite simply, make browsing a website far easier. Having a main menu of options at your immediate disposal is a major feather in the impatient user’s cap, especially if the website has an exhaustive amount of content contained within.
Under Basic settings, add the navigation bar you want to be your sticky menu.
- Change any desired settings, like the space between the top of the page and the sticky element.
- Click Save Settings.
- Refresh your website to see your sticky menu.
What is the position of a navigation bar?
A website navigation bar is most commonly displayed as horizontal list of links at the top of each page. It may be below the header or logo, but it is always placed before the main content of the page. In some cases, it may make sense to place the navigation bar vertically on the left side of each page.
What is fixed position navigation?
Usually, a fix is where two or more position lines intersect at any given time. The most accurate fixes occur when the position lines are perpendicular to each other. Fixes are a necessary aspect of navigation by dead reckoning, which relies on estimates of speed and course.
By default, your navigation bar remains “fixed” at the top of your screen when scrolling down the page. this is referred to as your fixed navigation bar. You can style the fixed navigation bar using these settings. If you have defined social profiles, then you can chose to display these in your header.

At present, users are accustomed to seeing the primary navigation toward the top of the page and either in a horizontal or vertical format. It is critical for a user to quickly be able to identify the primary ways they can navigate and use the interface.
Is there a way to make a secondary navigation?
In these cases, a secondary navigation can make the job! We were inspired by a nice solution adopted by Squarespace: the secondary navigation is hidden under the main content of the page; a click on the menu icon makes the page content to smoothly translate, revealing the hidden navigation.
How to create a header and navigation bar?
Here you can style your Primary or Secondary menu bars. These settings include options for menu height, text size and color, background color, and many others. In order to activate your secondary menu, you must enter a phone number and/or email address under Theme Customizer > Header & Navigation > Header Elements.
