Are tooltips good UX?
Tooltips with obvious or redundant text are not beneficial to users. If you can’t think of particularly helpful content, don’t offer a tooltip. Otherwise, you’ll just add information pollution to your UI and waste the time of any users unlucky enough to activate that tooltip.
When should you use tooltips?
Tooltips are best when they provide additional explanation for a form field unfamiliar to some users or reasoning for what may seem like an unusual request. Remember that tooltips disappear, so instructions or other directly actionable information, like field requirements, shouldn’t be in a tooltip.
Why is it important to have a good UX?
If you get your UX approaches right, they can be used to boost the speed of growth and expansion, making for larger budgets in the future. The truth is that a user makes the decision to accept or reject an online app or resource within mere seconds – you have to grab the attention fast, and keep hold of it.
Why are tooltips so important in mobile apps?
Mobile experiences offer unique design opportunities and the chance to create novel interfaces that just aren’t possible on web. Yet funnily enough, the most popular and effective mobile UI patterns include the same ones that we’ve seen on web apps for ages— tooltips, for instance, remain one of the stars of the show.
What’s the difference between usability and UX design?
Whilst usability and UX have become increasingly intertwined, they are not the same thing. The UX based approaches are designed to consider how a user feels about a particular service or online resource, but usability levels refer to how quickly and easily they can learn how to operate an online platform.

Tips can help you use screen space more effectively and reduce screen clutter. However, poorly designed tips can be annoying, distracting, unhelpful, overwhelming, or in the way.
