Does average time on page include bounces?

How is time on site calculated in Google Analytics?
Google Analytics tracks time on page and time on site by measuring the difference between the timestamps of hits. If the visit is a bounce (that is, the visitor leaves after viewing just one page), no time will be recorded.
What is a good time on page?
The truth is, ideal average for time on page will vary. Some marketers state that their average time on page is between 2-3 minutes. Others dial into this metric using read time, which is averaged based on the number of words in an article and a general reader’s words per minute speed.
What do you understand by exit rate?
An exit is the metric referring to the number of times visitors have left a site from a single page. How is page value calculated during Session 2?
You can see that Page B is viewed only once during Session 1, but during Session 2 it gets two pageviews (we’re assuming the two pageviews are from the same user). The total Ecommerce revenue stays the same during both sessions. Although there were two unique pageviews, there was still only one Ecommerce transaction total for both sessions.
How does time on page and session duration work?
On the last page, there is no next page recorded, so the Time on Page is unknown (recorded as 0) and the Session Duration ends when they opened the last page. For sessions where the user only looked at one page (a “bounce”), as in the Visitor 2 example above, the Time on Page and the Session Duration is 0.
How is the average time on a Page calculated?
Consider page two on that list — the one with 2,536 page views. An 88.17% exit rate implies 2,236 exits. In other words, the average time on page calculation for this page is based on only 300 pages. It’s no surprise then that GA calculates this value at 26:41 minutes for this non-video, all-text page.
