Why do I need a dedicated IP for my website?
A dedicated IP can be helpful for many different reasons—such as allowing you to access your website when the DNS is not set up, providing increased speed when the traffic load is high, and bringing increased security. But basically, a dedicated IP is like having your own unique identifying number in the web.
Why do I have so many IP addresses?
The world is running out of unassigned IPv4 addresses, so sharing IPv4 addresses amongst multiple customers will become the norm. Technologies such as Carrier Grade NAT (NAT at the ISP level) and DS-Lite (NAT at the ISP level where IPv4 traffic is tunnelled over IPv6) will be outbound-only.
What does it mean to have an IP address for a web host?
Your web host’s server is technically a computer, so this computer will have an address that identifies and defines their location on the internet. These IP addresses are mapped to certain domain names. So, you can technically type an IP address in place of a domain name and actually land on the same website.
Do you need a shared IP address to host a website?
There is generally nothing wrong with using the shared IP address that comes with your hosting account. Some softwares require a dedicated IP address, meaning that you can’t use a shared IP address. It is wise to check with your website software and see if it has any IP requirements.
Why is it beneficial to have a dedicated IP address?

Why do I need to create multiple IP addresses?
If the mail stream or data segment you are about to send to could negatively affect your overall sending reputation, then it may make sense to separate that mail stream from your normal IP address that sends to your most critical list. Send the mail stream from a different IP address instead.
