How install custom ROM on any device?
This is where installing a custom Android ROM comes into the picture….Now you have everything ready to install a custom ROM, we can begin the process.
- Step 0: Back up your data.
- Step 1: Downloading the correct ROM.
- Step 2: Downloading GApps or Google Apps.
- Step 3: Booting into TWRP.
- Step 4: Installing the Custom ROM.

The pre-built packages from OpenGApps.org are provided ONLY as courtesy by OpenGApps.org without warranty of ANY kind, under the terms that they can be freely used for personal use only, and are not allowed to be mirrored to the public other than OpenGApps.org. It’s distributing copyrighted binaries.
Can you install a custom ROM on an Android phone?
You can install a raw android rom in your device if you are lucky and get a custom rom for your device. For installing a custom rom first you have to root you device and then you have to install a custom recovery. Then you can install your custom rom.
Is there a generic ROM for all devices?
There isn’t any generic ROM for all devices. Each device has its own chipset and hardware, that has its own firmware (software) design for it. In order for there to be a generic ROM, it would have to have the software and drivers for every device out on the market.
Is it possible to install a generic Android OS?
The manufacturer doesn’t have an upgrade OS and if possible I would like to upgrade it to a higher version of Android (any higher version would do) so that I can use it for testing purposes. Is it possible to install a generic version of Android on a device or would it never run at all? Where would I even get such a generic version?
Is it possible to flash a custom ROM?
The size of the ROM would be so large it wouldn’t fit on most devices, let alone have room for anything else. Manufactures flash the ROM to their devices. From there we the can unlock the boot loaders, flash a custom recovery, install kernels and flash a custom ROM designed/made/ported for our device.
