Add a language on Gboard through Android settings
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app.
- Tap System. Languages & input.
- Under “Keyboards,” tap Virtual keyboard.
- Tap Gboard. Languages.
- Pick a language.
- Turn on the layout you want to use.
- Tap Done.

Apparently a new setting was added requiring you to enable physical keyboard input. To enable this setting go to Android Studio -> Tools -> Android -> AVD Manager. Click on the edit button for the desired emulator. Scroll to the very bottom of the advanced settings and check “Enable keyboard input”.

Then removed this layout, after which i removed the English (United Kingdom) language. It seems that Windows 10 didn’t update the languages in the settings, so to remove them you first need to add them. I still have no idea how these languages were added in the first place though..
