I am using a third party cover that i bought off ebay as apple doesn’t have a proprietary cover that has an apple pencil holder. In iOS 10 there was an option in the display settings to disable the screen turning off when the cover was closed and that would solve the lock button issue while you tested the new screen etc. Where is that option in iOS 11, I can’t find it anywhere.
