How do I connect my Thunderbolt display to my computer?
Thunderbolt is of course a separate thing. If you’re still committed to using the TB display with a PC, then you should check that the PC has a Thunderbolt port. Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter is needed, and then you just plug the TB3 end to the PC and the TB2 end plugs into the monitor’s cable.
Why does my MacBook display say no signal?
I use MBP 13″ early 2011 and tried to connect with external moniter ACER X163w but the monitor displays a “no signal” error. I use official cable Display MiniDVI to VGA and run OS X 10.6.8. Might the external monitor be too small or how else can I troubleshoot this?
Can a MacBook Pro connect to an external monitor?
I purchased an adapter so I could connect it to my external monitor (which functions perfectly). It was a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter, after which I used a DisplayPort cable to connect it to my external UHD monitor (Philips Brilliance 288P). The MacBook Pro was running Sierra as operating system, and it recognized the external monitor.
Why does my MacBook not detect external display?
Normally it automatically detects a source and switches to that mode, but I also tried manually switching to DisplayPort as an input, after which I immediately receive the message of no signal being found. I know for sure that the adapter works properly, as I have two of them which both worked before.
Can a MAC play nicely with an external display?
You can’t force a Mac to play nicely with an incompatible external display by chaining multiple adapters together! If you have a chain of adapters, such as a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter chained to a DVI to HDMI adapter, you’ll need to replace this setup with a single, compatible adapter.
