Can video be sent over USB-C?
With increased data-transfer speeds comes the ability to push video over the same connection. USB-C’s Alternate Mode (or “Alt Mode” for short) for video enables adapters to output video from that same USB-C port to HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA and other types of video connectors on displays, TVs and projectors.

Next to the ports on a Windows laptop, you’ll find symbols/logo that show you what you can do with a particular port. Is there a symbol of a lightning bolt (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port? Then you can use this port to charge and to transfer a video signal.

Can the switch output the display over USB-C?
But no guarantees on whether it’s safe to use with the Switch. USB 3.1 spec includes DisplayPort. Can a USB-C monitor work with a laptop?
I tried another USB-C monitor (Dell U2720Q) in all of my MBP’s USB-C ports and it works fine. Tried the monitor in question with a different cable in all of the USB-C ports. does not work. Unfortunately nothing seems to get the display to work over USB-C. If anyone has any suggestion that would be great.
