With purchase sharing, you can give your family members access to each other’s apps, music, films, TV programmes and books. With purchase sharing, one adult in your Family Sharing group agrees to pay for any purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store and Apple Books.
Can purchased apps be shared with family?
Would you like to share the app you bought with your husband/wife or kids? You can use the Family Sharing possibility. It works on both Android and Apple devices.
Movies & TV shows
- Open the Play Movies & TV app .
- At the bottom, tap Library.
- Under the “Movies” or “TV shows” tab, look for purchased content you want to add.
- On the content’s details page, turn on Family Library.
What content can Family Sharing share?
When you’re in a Family Sharing group, you can share Apple subscriptions, an iCloud storage plan, and eligible App Store subscriptions with other family members. Not all services are available in all countries or regions, and some selections are subject to content restrictions set in Screen Time.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing.
- Tap your name.
- Confirm or change the Apple ID that you want to use to share content.
- Tap Back in the upper-left corner to go back to Family Sharing.
- Tap Purchase Sharing and make sure that Share Purchases with Family is turned on.
Can I buy a movie on Apple for someone else?
Try on an iOS device in the the iTunes Store App (purple icon) > movies Tab , use the share icon (top right) , there is an option to gift it. They will receive an email (to redeem it) to the email account you used.
You can share content that you purchase from Apple including music, movies, tv shows, apps, and books. You can also share your Apple subscriptions including Apple One.
