How does Mac Sierra detect displays?

- Open the Displays pane in System Preferences. Apple > System Preferences… > Displays.
- Notice the small. help button in the lower right corner of the Displays pane.
- Press and hold the Option key on your keyboard; a Detect Displays button will magically appear next to the help button.
