Why does my text app say I have unread messages?
If your Android is constantly notifying you of new or unread text messages that don’t exist, it’s usually due to your messaging app’s cached or saved data. Sometimes these issues will clear up automatically upon receipt of a new message, so try asking someone to send you a message first.
How do I clear my message count?
For Android:
- Tap the [Chat] icon on the bottom toolbar.
- Enter the chatroom that you wish to remove the badge count of.
- Tap the [More] icon (three lines) at the top right corner of the chat room.
- Turn off the chat notification.
- Adjust the toggle to white to turn off the message counts for unread chats.

What to do when Messenger says you have a new message?
