How do I send a secure Dropbox link?
You can add a password to a shared PDF link by signing in to dropbox.com, clicking the ‘Share’ button beside the file name, and connecting to the Link settings. Only people with the password you choose will be able to view or download the PDF you send.
Share a Dropbox link with view-only access
- Sign in to dropbox.com.
- Click All files in the left sidebar.
- Hover over the file or folder you’d like to share and click the share icon (person). If a link hasn’t been created, click Create.
- The link is copied to your clipboard.
If you don’t have a Dropbox account, you can:
- Create a Dropbox account for free and then accept the invite.
- Ask the person who invited you to share a link to the folder, rather than adding you as a member.
How do I share a link to the clipboard?
Here’s how:
- Find the link you want to copy and paste.
- Tap and hold the link.
- Tap Copy link address.
- Tap and hold in the space where you want to paste the link.
- Tap Paste in the menu that appears.

Share a file publicly
- Choose an option:
- Click Share or Share.
- Under Get Link click Change to anyone with link.
- To decide what people can do with your public link when you share it, select Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.
- Click Done.
- Copy and paste the link in an email or any place you want to share it.
How do I find a link I copied?
Look for a clipboard icon in the top toolbar. This will open the clipboard, and you’ll see the recently copied item at the front of the list. Simply tap any of the options in the clipboard to paste it into the text field.
