Why is my Apple Time Capsule making noise?
That loud noise is most likely the fan. Hard disks can make horrible noises.. but that is a sign of imminent death.. and the TC will have a red status in the Airport Utility and a hard disk error. More likely it has an over temperature warning. But even that is not always the case.. it can simply be a faulty fan.

Use a short name and 8-20 character password which should be identical on both computers. Name is pure alphanumeric mixed case and numbers.. same with password. Make sure the name of the Mac is also short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
