- Select the item, then choose File > Make Alias. You can create as many aliases for an item as you want, then drag them to other folders or to the desktop.

Why are all of my Files ” Alias ” on my computer?
If I create a new document of any sort on the new computer it saves completley fine, it’s just the files that are on my external. All the folders have a little arrow on the lower left corner and everything says Kind: Alias EXCEPT for the files in my “All My Files” folder.

When I plug my external in and double click the “resumes/cover letters” folder, it says “The alias “Resume/Cover Letters” can’t be opened because the original document can’t be found.
