Why is Apple not sending me a verification code?
Go to Settings > iCloud. Tap your Apple ID username. If your device is offline, tap Get Verification Code. If your device is online, tap Password & Security > Get Verification Code.

Can you send an attachment to an Apple e-mail?

The only exception to the above I have noticed is if you order something from the Apple Store ( apple.com ), your receipt will be addressed to Dear Apple Customer. That is a receipt for a purchase you initiated.
