Do I need an alternate airport?
You need to name an alternate airport on your IFR flight plan if, for the period of time one hour before and one hour after your estimated time of arrival, the weather is forecast to include a ceiling of 2,000 feet agl and/or visibilities less than three statute miles (the 1-2-3 rule).
Is WAAS mandatory?

Can a WAAS be used for LNAV approaches?
WAAS users without BARO-VNAV may flight plan for the use of LNAV approaches at any airport, whether the destination, alternate, or both. WAAS equipped with BARO-VNAV may flight plan for LNAV/NAV or RNP 0.3 DA approaches at both, the destination and alternate.
What to do when filing an alternate Aiport?
Now, when filing an alternate aiport, what I understand from the text in the AIM is that, we can shoot both GPS or file based upon GPS approaches at both destination and alternate airport?
