How do you identify a circuit board?
In many cases, there will be two numbers printed on a board. One identifies the circuit board with an individual part number. The other part number will be for the board complete with all its components. Sometimes this is called a circuit card assembly (CCA) to distinguish it from the basic board without components.
What is a PCB connector?
A ‘PCB’ or Printed Circuit Board connects electrical components on a conductive track or between pads on the board. PCB connectors are mounted on the PCB and are typically used to transfer signals or power from one PCB to another, or to transfer to or from the PCB from another source within the unit.
What helps identify a connector in a diagram?
The connectors are identified using the name/number on the diagram pages. CAUTION: Not all connectors are serviced. Some connectors are serviced only with a harness.
What are circuit board plugs called?
PCB Connectors: Backplane, Wire-to-Board, Board-to-Board Connectors. These types of connector systems are mounted or processed to a printed circuit board (PCB). These connectors provide exceptional performance in both low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) and embedded DisplayPort (eDP) applications.
What are some different kinds of wire connectors?
Generally, electrical power connectors are classified according to how much voltage they carry. There are three categories of electrical connectors: light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty. Each category heading refers to how much voltage the connector can handle.
What kind of connectors are on a circuit board?
A circuit board may have one or more connectors attached to it; a cable snaps onto the connector and carries electrical signals from it to other parts of the electronic equipment. Connectors are usually plastic and have one or more metal pins or fittings that mate with the cable.
What are board to board interconnects used for?
This type of device is engineered to provide signal connections between two printed circuit boards (PCBs). Our board-level interconnects are manufactured to give you more performance in the harshest applications.
How tall are Te board to board connectors?
Our solutions can provide high speed and scalability for what’s next. A comprehensive family of modular signal interconnects for board-to-board, wire-to-board, and wire-to-wire applications from 1.00 mm (0.039”) to 3.96 mm (0.156”) centerlines that are… TE’s stack connector portfolio includes: free height, fine stack, and fine mate connectors.
What do you need to know about connectors?
ConnectXpress walks you through step-by-step to guide you to the cable you need. What is a connector? A connector is a conductive device that allows a physical interface between devices. Connectors come in a wide variety of form factors, and serve many different functions with the devices you use everyday!
