Can I connect two charge controllers on the same battery bank?
Larger battery banks often require greater charging than a single controller can provide. Generally, there is no problem with charging battery banks with several charging sources. “Multiple TriStars can be installed in parallel on the same battery bank to achieve higher charging current.
Can you connect 2 MPPT controllers together?
Yes you can have 2 (or more) MPPTs on the same battery bank. If it was not possible, you would never be able to have, more panels, than can be handled by 1 MPPT, in 1 system. And we know that is possible. Any MPPT (or PWM) solar charger, has a limit to how much Wp it can handle, eg.
Can multiple charge controllers run?
The multiple charge controllers will not compete with each other because they all sense the same internal resistance of the battery. If charge controller A puts in 100Watts, charge controller B will also put in 100Watts. When you program your charge controller you can add the cutoff voltage in the software.
Can you stack charge controllers?
A single PT controller can provide up to 100 amps of charging current to the battery bank. When more charging current is required than can be provided by a single PT controller, up to seven PT controllers can be connected (or stacked) together to increase the charge current capability.
Can you charge two batteries with one solar panel?
Most solar charge controllers will only allow you to charge one battery. There are a few charge controllers that have now added the default option of having two battery banks. The two banks are charge separately using the same controller and solar panels.
