1.) Would it kill a relay if i use a 1HP 220v 8a single phase motor to drive a bridge forward, (it’s about 1200 lbs not that sure yet though hehe) A relay used to energize any motor must be rated for motor duty. It must be capable of handling the motor inrush current.

My question is if L1 of the 220v is continuously connected to the motor and the other L2 of the 220v (110v) is connected to the proximity switch, can I also use the same L2 to supply the 110v needed to supply power to the other side of the relay which would supply power to the motor when the proximity switch is made up?
