What happens to current gain when collector increases?
Hi, An increase in base current means more bias to the transistor which further means collector current will also increase but till the limiting value of the transistor parameters. However, if you try to push more current to the base, collector current would no more increase but the transistor may break down.
What is the relationship between emitter current and collector current in a DC voltage?
What is the relationship between the base-emitter and collector-emitter voltages of a bipolar transistor? Generally, the current that flows from the emitter to the collector or vice versa is the base current times the DC current gain (hFE).
What is the effect on collector current Ic of increasing emitter bias?
Collector-Feedback Bias Variations in bias due to temperature and beta may be reduced by moving the VBB end of the base-bias resistor to the collector as in the figure below. If the emitter current were to increase, the voltage drop across RC increases, decreasing VC, decreasing IB fed back to the base.
Does collector current increase with temperature?
To keep the base current constant, is increased. Therefore, the collector current increases as the temperature is decreased.
How base current is generated?
The component of base current due to holes moving from base to emitter is called the “injection component” of base current. When a few electrons from the emitter fail to reach the collector and recombine in the base, electrons eventually exit the base lead to preserve charge neutrality.
Why does collector current increase with base current?
So the rate of change of Ic is lesser as compared to rate of change of Ib. And for initial increase in Beta with Ic is due to shift from cut-off —> active region as Ib increases (Ic increases exponentially here before active region part) and low level injection and various leakage mechanisms.
What is the dependency of current gain on collector current in BJT?
Beta/ hfe (both are actually different quantities) varies with variation in collector current.
Why does the rate decrease as IC increases?
Now to why does the rate decrease is because as Ic goes on increasing, Ib also changes exponentially whereas Ic is pretty much regulated by Vce which acts as a linear resistor. So the rate of change of Ic is lesser as compared to rate of change of Ib.
