What is the relation between multiplexing and the sampling frequency in a data acquisition system?
Multiplexing reduces the rate at which data can be acquired from an individual channel because of the time-sharing strategy between channels. For example, an ADC that can sample a single channel at 100 kHz is limited to a 12.5-kHz/channel sampling rate when measuring eight channels.
What is ADC multiplexer?
The multiplexer (MUX) is a fast switch that sequentially scans numerous input-signal chan- nels and directs them in a preprogrammed manner to a single ADC for digitizing. This approach saves the cost of using an ADC for each channel.
How does RF sampling work with an ADC?
“RF sampling” is the technology of digitizing an RF signal with an ADC directly, without an analog frequency conversion to a lower IF (intermediate frequency) or baseband (Zero IF) before the signal is converted from analog to digital.

How many ADCs are needed for simultaneous sampling?
Shipboard radar detection also requires simultaneous sampling, at between 10Msps and 30Msps with 12-bit resolution. This function can be performed with two ADCs (MAX1172) whose trimmable reference inputs enable the compensation of system gain and offset.
How are DAC and ADC conversion processes different?
Analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) and digital-to-analog conversion(DAC) are processes that allow computers to interact with analog signals. These conversions take place in e.g., CD/DVD players. Digital information is different from the analog counterpart in two important respects: it is sampledand it is quantized.
