Are relays inductive loads?
The biggest “enemy” of a common relay is an inductive load, such as a solenoid or an electromagnet. Its behavior is the most damaging, capable of completely destroying (welding or burning) the relay contacts. It behaves in the opposite way compared to a capacitive load.
What is inductive spike?
Inductive flyback refers to the voltage spike created by an inductor when its power supply is suddenly reduced or removed. This voltage spike occurs because the current flowing through the inductor cannot change instantly. The rate at which the current can change is limited by the inductor’s time constant.
Are LED lights sensitive to voltage?
Because LEDs are extremely sensitive to under- or over-voltage, you must calculate voltage drop carefully and correct for it. Sometimes it works as if the source is an incandescent lamp; other times, if the voltage is too low, for example, standard dimmers do not work.

Ensure that the chosen components are suitably rated for the inductance and energy to be dissipated. The peak reverse voltage ratings should be a minimum of two times the power supply maximum output voltage.
