Are there Vias on the Altium PCB design?
So maybe the option has no place for the vias… Thanks for reading and maybe helping. EDIT 04.04.18: The placment of the vias stitching is placed on the design but there are no via on it (always the same message “unable to add stitching via”). I have like 20 vias stitching area but with no via.
How does via stitching work in Altium Designer 21?
Via stitching is run as a post-process, filling free areas of copper with stitching vias. For via stitching to be possible, there must be overlapping regions of copper that are attached to the specified net, on different layers. Supported regions of copper include Fills, Polygons and Power Planes.
What does via shielding mean in Altium Designer?
In Altium Designer, this is referred to as via shielding. Altium Designer supports both via stitching and via shielding. In the image below, shielding vias are highlighted, move the cursor over the image to highlight the stitching vias that have been added to this board.
How to add via stitching to a PCB?
For via stitching to be possible, there must be overlapping regions of copper that are attached to the specified net, on different layers. Supported regions of copper include Fills, Polygons and Power Planes. Select the Tools » Via Stitching/Shielding » Add Stitching to Net command from the menus to add stitching vias to a specific net.
How do you place a pad in Altium?
Right-click in the design space then select Place » Pad from the context menu. After launching the command, the cursor will change to a crosshair and you will enter pad placement mode. Position the cursor then click or press Enter to place a pad. Continue placing further pads or right-click or press Esc to exit placement mode.
Can you use via stitching on Altium MOSFET?
With altium, I added a via stitching on these fills. I also checked the option “Allow vias under SMD pads” in design rules. The issue is that stiching is not applyed when under the pad of the mosfet. The option “allow vias under SMD” does not seem to affect via stitching.
How is signal length calculated in Altium pad?
The Signal Length is the accurate calculation of the total node-to-node distance. Placed objects are analyzed to resolve stacked or overlapping objects and wandering paths within pads; and via lengths are included. The Pin Package Length is also included if it has been defined for the pad (s).
