Why do you need over voltage protection?
Without effective protection, the overvoltages destroy sensitive electronic components in the circuits of the connected appliances. Overvoltages can be caused, for example, by switching impulses of powerful engines, welding equipment or other large electric appliances.
How do I get rid of transient voltage?
Transients on an AC power line can range from a few volts to over several kilo-volts above the normal mains voltage. Suppression devices which attenuate or block these transient use filter circuits to effectively eliminate these mains born transients by inserting a 100Hz filter in series with the connected load.
How is over voltage protection used in a circuit?
By using overvoltage protection components or circuits: These circuits normally quench the over voltages, i.e. cause a short circuit across them before it reaches the electrical appliances. They should have a fast response and a high current carrying capacity.
What kind of power does a stealth mini PC use?
Stealth’s in-vehicle PC operates with DC power input and includes a user selectable power up/down control. Wide Range 9-48V DC power input models are also available along with OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection) & Reverse Protection.
What kind of power adapter do I need for my Mini PC?
“This product is a 19V, 3. 42a, 65 watts AC to DC adapter intended for use in AIO PC systems Intel NUC MSI Cubi Mini PC and gigabyte BRIX Ultra compact PC kits (except BRIX Pro and Brix gaming) item is equipped with fixed barrel output connector with 2. 5mm internal diameter, 5. 5mm external diameter, 11 mm in length.
Why do I need over voltage protection on probraly?
Probraly because 14MHz is low enough for PSU low-pass-filter. When I transmit on 14MHz band, voltage increased to 15V+ and luckily I place a over-voltage protection. That’s is, feed 12V through a 500mA fuse to drive a relay with a Zener diode. Fuse brusted as voltage was over the limit and the relay cut-off anything behind it.
