How does a reflective LCD work?
A reflective LCD uses the ambient light in the vicinity. The light passes through the LCD layer to a mirror, which reflects it back to the viewer. The least costly, reflective LCDs require bright ambient light. Viewing is difficult in dark rooms or outdoors at night.
What is a reflective display?
Reflective displays are based on technology that reflects ambient light rather than emitting it. This enables displays that can be read as easily as paper in sunlight for a more natural viewing experience, resting our eyes from the current dominance of intense backlit and emissive displays like LCD and OLED.
What is the use of busy flag of LCD?
The busy flag is D7 and can be read when R/W = 1 and RS = 0, as follows: if R/W= 1, RS = 0. When D7 = 1 (busy flag = 1), the LCD is busy taking care of internal operations and will not accept any new information. When D7 = 0, the LCD is ready to receive new information.
What does it mean to have a reflective LCD?
