What is K in binary tree?
Given a binary tree, a target node in the binary tree, and an integer value k, print all the nodes that are at distance k from the given target node. For example if the target node is 8 and k is 2, then such nodes are 10 and 14. 2) Other nodes, may be an ancestor of target, or a node in some other subtree.
How do you find the distance between nodes?
The distance between two nodes can be obtained in terms of lowest common ancestor. Following is the formula. Dist(n1, n2) = Dist(root, n1) + Dist(root, n2) – 2*Dist(root, lca) ‘n1’ and ‘n2’ are the two given keys ‘root’ is root of given Binary Tree.
How do you find the horizontal distance between two nodes at the same level in a binary tree?
Here is a step by step approach:
- Perform a level order traversal of the binary tree and store the values in an array.
- This results in an array with its elements as node values.
- Traverse the array elements.
- Keep traversing the array and check that:
- Finally, print the value of the counter.
What is AK node?
In graph theory, an m-ary tree (also known as k-ary or k-way tree) is a rooted tree in which each node has no more than m children. A binary tree is the special case where m = 2, and a ternary tree is another case with m = 3 that limits its children to three.
How many leaf nodes are present in a binary tree having a depth of H?
A perfect binary tree of height h has 2h leaf nodes. Proof: Again, we will use induction on the height. When h = 0, there is 20 = 1 node and that node is a leaf node. height h + 1 must have 2·2h = 2h + 1 leaf nodes.
What is the height of the root node of K-ary tree?
Explanation: Height of K-ary tree is defined as the length of path from root to deepest node in tree. Therefore, height of root node in K-ary tree is 0.
What is top view of?
What you see when you look at something from directly above. Here is a top view of a camera. Also called a Plan View.
How to find nodes at distance k from a given node?
There are 4 key steps that we take care of : If the root==target then return all nodes in the subtree at distance k. If the target lies in left subtree of node at distance ‘m’, then we will find the nodes at distance k-m in right branch.
What is the distance of a node in a binary tree?
The given tree is non-empty. Each node in the tree has unique values 0 <= node.val <= 500. The target node is a node in the tree. 0 <= k <= 1000. Sign in to view your submissions.
How to print the first type of node?
Finding the first type of nodes is easy to implement. Just traverse subtrees rooted with the target node and decrement k in recursive call. When the k becomes 0, print the node currently being traversed (See this for more details). Here we call the function as printkdistanceNodeDown ().
Is the time complexity of a node O ( n )?
Time Complexity: At first look the time complexity looks more than O (n), but if we take a closer look, we can observe that no node is traversed more than twice. Therefore the time complexity is O (n). This article is contributed by Prasant Kumar.
