What is the rated current of a circuit breaker?
Every circuit breaker has a specified amperage (amount of current). This rating is labeled on the breaker itself. The standard for most household circuits are rated either 15 amps or 20 amps. An important note to remember is that circuit breakers can only handle about 80% of their overall amperage.
What is rated tripping current?
Trip current rating is the minimum current at which the MCB will trip instantaneously. It is required that the trip current must persist for 0.1s.
Why does Mccb trip again and again?
Breakers are a safety device. And when you reset the MCB, and it immediately trips again, then it is usually indicative of a direct short. Another common cause for the breaker to trip are loose electrical connections and can easily be corrected by tightening them.
