Can you Remagnetize a guitar pickup?
If you get any reading between around 6 kOhms to a little over 20 kOhms (humbuckers), it’s probably OK. For Fenders (and some others), you can also check at the termination of the hair fine wires on the pickup itself (at the rivets). Be careful not to break any wires. Fender Pickups will generally read about 7 kOhms.

Can you put any pickups in any guitar?
