How do you measure rechargeable batteries?
Touch the metal tip of the meter’s black probe wire to the negative (-) end or terminal of your battery, and then touch the metal tip of the meter’s red probe wire to the positive (+) end or terminal of the battery. When touching them to the battery, observe the voltage reading on your multimeter’s display.
How is charge rate measured?
The charging rate, in Amps, is given in the amount of charge added the battery per unit time (i.e., Coulombs/sec, which is the unit of Amps). The charging/discharge rate may be specified directly by giving the current – for example, a battery may be charged/discharged at 10 A.
How long does it take for rechargeable batteries to charge?
Maximizes Battery Life

How does the rechargeable battery capacity tester work?
The tester discharges the battery while monitoring the voltage of the batteries. When the low threshold is reached, that cell is done it disconnects the load from the battery.
How do you charge a cell phone battery?
Place “charged battery on charger”. Depending on how long since it was last charged the charge light should either flash or perhaps remain on for a minute or two and then go off. Remove battery from charger. Wait 10 seconds. Place battery back on charger. Charge light should flash very briefly and go out.
Can you test the charge of a battery?
Yes. You have to actually discharge the battery to measure its capacity, obviously. It’s probably only a 200mA load to test or something. Get a Triton battery charger (or a TritonII ), set it to discharge at whatever rate you want, and it’ll discharge the battery until it reaches X volts.
When to use a rechargeable battery charger?
Whenever possible you should allow your rechargeable batteries to fully discharge inside the device in which they are being used before you recharge those batteries. In other words, wait until the electrical device either stops working or it tells you it is time to replace the batteries.
