Can you plug a 3 prong into a 2 prong extension cord?
Do not plug an extension cord or power strip into it. To the left is a 3-prong-to-2-prong adapter (also known as a “Cheater Plug”). It allows a 3-prong plug to be plugged into an 2-prong outlet. Unless both the equipment cord and the extension cord are 3-pronged the equipment is not ground protected.

What’s the best way to install a power cord?
Drill two small holes in the sides or ends of the box that are just large enough to insert the wires. File or sand the edges of the holes so they are not sharp. Insert the wires through the holes leaving about 6″ or 7″ of wire on the inside and then tie the wire into a simple knot large enough so that the knot cannot pull back through the hole.
