How do fans work?
The ceiling fan has a motor that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. As the electrical current reaches the motor, it enters coils of wire that are wrapped around a metal base. When this current passes through the wire, it creates a magnetic field which further exerts force in a clockwise motion.

Suction is created by the effects of centrifugal force acting upon the spinning air within the fan. As the fan rotates, the spinning air moves outward away from the hub, creating a partial vacuum which causes more air to flow into the fan.

The word “turbofan” is a portmanteau of “turbine” and “fan”: the turbo portion refers to a gas turbine engine which achieves mechanical energy from combustion, and the fan, a ducted fan that uses the mechanical energy from the gas turbine to force air rearwards.

Ship propellers are also designed to minimize a problem called cavitation, which happens when a propeller working under heavy load (turning too quickly, for example, or operating too near the surface) creates a region of low pressure.

They can also improve out-of-the-hole acceleration, while maintaining plane with fewer engine rpm’s. Because there is more drag , multi-blade props reduce top-end speed. A high-end three-blade prop usually runs a few miles per hour fasted per hour faster that the same pitched multiple–blade design.
