How does anti-seize affect torque?
When applying an anti-seize to your components, the torque value to achieve the same clamp load will be lower. If anti-seize is used with the torque specified for a dry assembly, you risk exceeding the proof load of the fastener.
Does anti-seize change torque specs?
Because the use of an anti-seize changes the torsion-tension relationship of a fastener system, torque settings need to be recalculated. The dry/oiled torque value can be multiplied by a Torque Reduction Factor to produce the correct torque value for the particular anti-seize compound and material combination.
