What is linear and circular polarization?
Linear polarization: the electric field of light is confined to a single plane along the direction of propagation (Figure 1). Circular polarization: the electric field of light consists of two linear components that are perpendicular to each other, equal in amplitude, but have a phase difference of π/2.
How do you explain polarization?
Polarization, property of certain electromagnetic radiations in which the direction and magnitude of the vibrating electric field are related in a specified way. Light may be polarized by reflection or by passing it through filters, such as certain crystals, that transmit vibration in one plane but not in others.
How does polarisation work?
Polarized lenses mitigate glare by using a chemical film either applied to or embedded in the lenses. The chemical filter on polarized sunglasses removes glare by absorbing the incoming horizontal light, while still allowing vertical light. The lenses only allow in vertical light, acting as a chemical venetian blind.

What is p polarization?
P-polarization refers to light that is polarized parallel to the plane of incidence. S-polarization refers to light that is polarized perpendicularly to the plane of incidence. So saying that P-polarization is always up-down and S is always side-to-side is incorrect.
What are examples of polarized light?
Polarized light can be produced in circumstances where a spatial orientation is defined. One example is synchrotron radiation, where highly energetic charged particles move in a magnetic field and emit polarized electromagnetic waves.
