Are all keycaps compatible?
Different companies use different mechanical switches to build their keyboard, and not every switch is compatible with every type of keycap. Almost all custom keycaps are for MX Cherry switches, as they’re the most common.
How do I know if keycap is compatible?
You can check if a keycap set will fit your mechanical keyboard by checking the layout of your keyboard, knowing the size of special keys such as space, shift, backspace, enter, and the bottom row keys such as Ctrl, Alt, Win, and Fn. Some keyboards need extra keys or smaller keys than a standard layout.
How do I buy compatible keycaps?
Find keycaps that fit and join a group buy with these steps: Inspect your switches and their stem / mount compatibility. Ensure kit coverage and keycap shape (row profile) across each row of keys. How do I know what size my keycap is?
Most keys, like the alpha / numeric keys, are referred to as single unit or one space keys. Larger keys are measured in 1/4 increments of a one space key. So an “Alt” key, for example, may be a 1.25 size and a “Tab” key a 1.5 size. Space bars can measure up to 10.5 units long.
Can you replace keycaps on a laptop?
Fixing a loose keycap If the keycap is loose but still attached to the laptop, it can often be fixed by pressing down on the keycap. If the keycap re-attaches, a snap while pressing the key down is heard. If this does not fix the issue, we suggest removing the key so it can be re-attached.
What keycaps are compatible with Keychron K2?
We use the normal OEM profile keycaps for the K2 so normal MX style keycap will fit on the K2.
Will Cherry keycaps fit Razer?
