If the oil level is a little above the full mark, that shouldn’t cause problems. If it’s overfilled by half a quart or more, or foam shows on the dipstick, the best fix is to have the oil drained and refilled to the proper level.

There’s a reason they give you a L and H mark, it’s supposed to be in the middle. Most cars are spec’d to be at just below the H mark,not in the middle. Not that it makes a huge difference.

Not an uncommon thing to do on oil changes. However due to the slight oil dillution that is occuring with these engines, the level gets pushed slightly above the max level on the dipstick over time.

Sort of like making a meringue. The problem with this meringue is that it is compressible, meaning your oil pump can’t pump it, and your fluid bearings won’t be able to prevent metal/metal contact. Which can be an engine killer. .5cm isn’t enough to cause that kind of trouble, though.
